Rindu
Mungkin makcik aku ingatkan pasal zaman kecik2 dulu suka main perang2, tiba2 rindu dia.
Haha memang aku suka main perang2 dulu, jadi askar, kadang2 pahlawan berpedang, nyorok bawah meja. Zaman gembira2 dulu xpikir masalah.
Ingat dulu-dulu, rindu pulak tengok senyuman dia. Senyum saja dia, walaupun dalam hati siapa tahu, sunyi, penat mungkin. Tapi senyuman selalu ada.
Ingat dulu-dulu, rindu nasihat dan bebelan dia. Memang banyak bercerita, sayang agaknya, dalam hati hanya niat menjaga.
Ingat dulu-dulu, rindu masakan dia. Hehe paling sedap. Sambal tempe(Makanan jawa) memang nombor satu, lontongnya, kuih2, memang sedap belaka.
Apa dia buat di sana hehe, harap2 bahagia. Orang di sini rindu da.
Kalau tak, boleh call mengadu kan hehe, rindu nak kena tegur2, kasih sayang dia.
Dia suka jugak citer hindustan hehe.
Biar along tengokkan video lagu hindustan ni nek."
And with that he had along a video; Khabie khushi khabi gham.
The white butterfly.
I grew up with her scent lingered on my every shirt. Very much the same of my bantal busuk, the immunity grows with age. But as time passed, I learnt to let it go. As I know, I can never forget her scent. It was not the thick smell of minyak urut warna hijau nor that it was her sweaty smell. Maybe it was her closet because the elderly loved to keep these moth balls to keep out roaches, i don't know. But I can tell it if she's around. Or maybe I am becoming rusty she had left us for quiet some time.
When wealong, me, and yaya played at her house, it would somehow become an issue. " Kau tengok cucu cucu ummi tu, mana ada diorang terjerit jerit terpekik terlolong macam ko orang. Buat malu je anak orang sebelah." Alaa takpe, nenek malu sekarang nanti orang datang rumah nenek puji jugak kitorang. Cucu aku pandai. Along, kakak UPSR 5A, PMR 8A. Yang kecik tu je kuat main. Nnati besar pandai macam abang kakak die. She wanted us to grow up, but she wouldn't let us be. We were too proud, our results were her best gifts.
When I was small, I was nenek's biggest pride. I know. She never grew tired of telling me how she gathered only the best symbolisms to be tanam with my uri. That when I was her lil girl, she used to apply tonic at my hair and drew my eyebrows. She wanted to give the best she could, and I wanted to be her best.
But there was this once, I had a fight with her. I can't really remember I called her babi, she turned all red couldn't believed her own ears. I remembered she went away to our kitchen. Ohh fine marahlah. Nanti mama balik, kakak cerita dulu dekat mama cakap nenek marah kakak dulu sebab tu kakak lawan. She's back. She was holding something I knew it was something reddish an alarm. Something's not good. And.. then it happened. My mouth was lipstick stained with chillies. IT WAS HOT. God. It was so hot to the level when I breathed in I can feel the mintiness in my nostrils burning down my upper senses, my lips grew big to the tips of my nose but I was too numb to cursed her. So I sat down gob smacked shock.
Nahh, I didn't tell my mother. Didn't have to. Well. I couldn't actually. My aunt explained the lips. She helped with the numbness. She forced me with a glass of iced soya. She said it would help. I was to terrified to get against anybody. So I just let the iciness worked it way on my double sized lips.
Amin
